Visiting the Santo Domingo botanical garden. Reeeally economic (less then a dollar) option for having a nice day out. Picnincs are allowed, but remember to keep the place clean!
This is the “Plaza de la Bandera”, a monument built to honour one of our most important patriotic symbols, the Dominican flag and the shield in it. Built in 1973, and since then It’s been an important place for Dominicans and the world. On January 26th 1979, the pope St John Paul II, held at the plaza, the first ever mass officiated by a roman pontifice in the land of the americas.
Just got out of Forno Bravo, great italian place. Brick oven pizza, pasta, meats…it was all so good that i forgot to take more pictures of it (guess that’s a good sign). Plaza Mezzaluna, 1st floor.
I want to share this great street art in Santa Barbara, a neighborhood in the Colonial Zone in Santo Domingo. This is part of the HOY SANTA BARBARA project, where local and international artists gathered to bring color and joy to a really special place in our city. Art pieces go all around blocks, making this an even more special place. If you’re ever around, grab a cold one in a “colmado” and walk around, take some pictures and shate it with us in mydistriKt.
