Texas Bluebonnets – they bloom between mid-March and mid-April. They will bloom in the southern parts of Texas first. Places like Brenham, Houston, Corpus Christi and San Antonio will start lighting up with Bluebonnets sometime in the latter part of March. As the season moves on, all the other places up North will start blowing up with these wonderful Bluebonnets.

South Padre Island – a fantastic place to have a relaxing weekend! This tropical location can be found at the southermost part of the world’s longest barrier reef island in the Gulf of Mexico. The island is conneKted to the mainland by the Queen Isabella Causeway and considered the finest coastel resort in Texas. Plus, you can find the islands own micro-brewery, the Padre Island Brewing Company. I had one before and can definitly recommend it!

“Fiesta San Antonio” (or simply “Fiesta”) is an annual spring festival held in San Antonio, Texas, USA. It started in the late 19th century and began as a single event to honor the memory of the battles of The Alamo and San Jacinto. This year everybody can join the Fiesta April 16th – April 26th 2015. Fiesta is the city’s biggest festival and more than three million people take part in more than 100 events that take place all over the city and beyond. A special parade I can recommend is the Texas Cavaliers River Parade on April 20th (7pm – 10pm). Hundreds of thousands of people line the banks of the San Antonio river to view the most unusual parade in America! This parade promises an evening of family fun with live music, celebrities and lights. More than 40 festively decorated floats sponsored by local community organizations and military installations drift down the river.

When you live near a town with one stoplight, you learn to make your own fun. Today’s Shiner is home to 2,069 residents and a pretty famous little brewery. Kosmos Spoetzl’s, Founder of Shiner Beer Brewery once said: “Put together a bunch of CZECHS AND GERMANS and you’ll either get a darn good beer or a fistfight.”
